BLOCK INFO

Under NELP-IX bid round, BPRL led consortium has been awarded one on-land block CB-ONN-2010/8, in Cambay basin. BPRL is the Lead Operator with 25% Participating Interest (PI) and the other consortium partners are GAIL(India) Ltd - 25% PI (Jt. Operator), Engineers India Ltd - 20% PI, BF Infrastructure Ltd - 20% PI and Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd - 10% PI.

As Lead Operator of the block, BPRL has to undertake the committed Minimum Work Programme (MWP) as per the Production Sharing Contract (PSC). The activities are mainly 2D/3D Seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation and drilling of 8 exploratory wells and the related activities to carry out the joint operations.

SEISMIC

In line with the Minimum Work Programme (MWP), Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL) has acquired 2D & 3D seismic data in the CB-ONN-2010/8 block during the year 2014. The seismic data acquired over a surface area of 42 sq. km (Full fold) was processed for Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) and Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM). A compressive Geoscientific interpretation was carried out at BPRL, which resulted in 4 drillable prospects and a few leads.

DRILLING

Based on the seismic data interpretation, 4 locations have been taken up for drilling at the beginning. At present, drilling of 3 commitment exploratory wells (PA#01, PA#02 & VA#01) has been completed. Meanwhile, the consortium has decided to drill 2 more commitment wells (i.e. total 6 wells out of 8 commitment wells) based on the drilling results of the initial 3 wells. The plan is to complete drilling of 3 exploratory wells and the subsequent testing activities.

The decision to drill the remaining 2 wells will be taken up post the studies on well data and G&G interpretation.
